I heard Joe Quigg tell a story about the 1957 game in Chapel Hill between the Gamecocks and the Tar Heels. Quigg said that he “held” Grady Wallace to 17 points, and after the game Grady told him it was the best anyone had played him defensively all year. He said Coach McGuire patted him on the back and said “that’s something to be proud of, Joe.”
